Big Boy Chair

My Mommy put my high chair together this week! I love to sit in it while her and Daddy have lunch. I'm going to miss having lunch with them when Mommy goes back to work in a few weeks. (But then I get to have lunch with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt B!!)
My Mom said this high chair is great because she can wheel me all over the kitchen. She also said someday I'll get to eat like a big boy at the island without the tray. I really have no idea what she's talking about...but she loves to talk and talk about all the fun stuff I'll get to do someday...
My place between Mommy and Daddy...
I liked this chair so much that I even went to sleep in it!

Grandpa's Work Van

I got to take a "ride" in my Grandpa's work van! He told me that someday when I'm older we'll actually go somewhere!
And when I'm older then that I'll even get to drive!

Ten Weeks Old!

Austin was 10 weeks old on Thursday. Yesterday afternoon he took a three hour nap and went four hours between his 3rd and 4th feeding. Then he skipped his 6th feeding and slept from 9:00 pm - 6:30 am!

Holding on tight to his Aunt B....
Some pictures to show his future girlfriends...
We went to visit Network Solutions on Wednesday afternoon. He has such a good time flirting with the girls and hanging out with the boys. I told him it was "business casual" and this is what he decided to wear...

Pumpkin Patch '08

We went with Aunt B. to the pumpkin patch on Sunday. We are so lucky to have such a nice place so close to home! Here's a slide show of Austin picking out his very first pumpkins...

When we got home we decorated our front porch for fall. More pictures to follow...

Dressed To Impress

Austin went to his first wedding on Saturday. He was a perfect little angel during church. Here are some pictures of him in his "church clothes."
Thanks to Isabella and her parents for such a cute outfit!

Shots, Blow Outs and Mystery Gifts

What a day! The appointment starts off with us not being able to find a parking spot. I took that as a sign we should just go home, but Grandma Salger said we had to go through with it. Here we are before the doctor came in...Why do they make it so cold in the office??
He did really well during the first part of the exam. He now weighs 14lbs 3oz and is 24 1/2 inches long! This is actually a fourth of an inch shorter then he was last time! Our regular nurse is on maternity leave, so we'll blame the stand in for the loss in length! Length = 95%, Weight = 95%, and Head Circumference = 50%. (If your child is in the 20th percentile for weight, for example, he weighs more than 20 percent of children his age and less than the other 80 percent. I never understood this until I had him.) His weight really caught up to length since last month! He likes to eat as much as his Mommy and Daddy do!
The second part of the visit wasn't as much fun. 4 vaccines total. One oral and three shots. The poor little guy! I haven't heard him cry like that since he was born. Such a sad sight. Here's a shot of his battle scars... To make things even worse... they gave him girly band-aids! (which I'm saving of course!)I had a bottle ready for him as soon as the nurse was finished. It really seemed to help calm him down. He did really well the rest of the day. We gave him a little Tylenol when we first got home because he was acting like his legs were sore.
"And then his mean lady gave me not one, not two, but THREE shots! But I was tough. I only cried a little bit!"
Not sure if it's vaccine related, but we had TWO blow outs when we got home. One was MAJOR. All over Mom major! While I was feeding him I said, "wow, he's really sweating a lot." Yeah, that wasn't sweat...
Passed out after a little shot of Tylenol
He started to get a little fussy about an hour after his 7:30 feeding. I laid him down in bed so I could get another round of Tylenol ready. Next thing I know... it's 7:00 am! He didn't even wake up for his last feeding! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's not just from the shots!!

We are moving to size 2 diapers now that we know he's officially over 14lbs. We have a "few" packages of size 1 to return...
We had a mystery gift left at our house last night. I was rocking Austin when I heard someone pull in the driveway. G'ma and G'pa Salger were coming over to check on the little patient so I didn't think anything of it. All of a sudden I heard someone knock on the front door. By the time I got up, laid him down and got to the door the visitor was gone. All I saw was a white SUV pulling out of the drive way and a gift bag in between the doors. If anyone has any info let us know! We'd like to thank them for the very nice gift! (I think the 08 bulldog is so cute since Daddy was a bulldog in high school!)

2 Months!

Here are Austin's 2-month wagon pictures. You can see how much he's changed from last month here http://austinjaykiefer.blogspot.com/2008/08/one-month-photo-shoot.html.

Here are some other pictures for the past few days. He loves to lay in our bed. He's still sleeping all night in his own bed but he loves to take his morning nap in ours!
This is his new "rain forest" play mat.
Our sweet little baby. Oh how our lives have changed in just 2 short months!
Happy Birthday Austin! We love you!

Thanks to everyone that has sent him Happy Birthday emails today! I've sent them to his own email at austinkiefer@gmail.com. Feel free to drop him a line when you feel like it. (Someday he'll be happy I saved the emails for him!)

Such A Good Boy

I can't believe he'll be two months old this coming week. Time is flying by. He has slept in his big boy bed every night since Wednesday - going 10 hours between feedings each night. He loves to be talked to. His cooing gets louder and more serious each day. It's almost like he knows exactly what he's trying to say! I've had to put aways most of his 0-3 size sleepers because they are too short. The 3 - 6 month are too long, but size 3 month seem to work pretty good. We don't want to be stunting his growth because he can't bend his legs! Here are some more pictures from the past few days...
Shopping at a craft store...

"I see you!"

Birthday Party!

Austin was invited to his friend's 1st birthday party on Saturday. It was a cowboy theme so we had to dress the part. Hat and all!
All ready to go!
