We're still here!

We wanted to let everyone know that we're still here! The lack of blogging is due to a few different things...

1) We were out of town this past weekend! I got to go on a "Mommy Getaway" with a good friend, while Jay and Austin stayed with her husband and three kids. Needless to say, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall while the two of them cared for four children (three of them under the age of one!!) all weekend. It was hard to leave Austin but I felt better knowing he was with his Dad and only an hour away from where we were staying. Jay and Austin had a great time together. I know it was a little stressful at times because Austin wasn't in his own element and we think he was starting to get sick. Which leads me to reason number 2....

2) Nasty ear infection!! Austin just hasn't been himself the past week. He's crabby and clingy all night. He won't play with his toys and you can forget about him sleeping in his own bed. Last night he started screaming bloody murder when anything came near his right ear. This morning he woke up with all kinds of yucky drainage in his ear. Dr. Kellow confirmed this morning that his first ear infection is in full swing. The medicine seems to already be working. He still wouldn't let me leave the room tonight, but I was able to get a few smiles out of him...
3) Easter Pictures!! We took Austin to get his Easter pictures taken on Monday. Here's a sneak peek....
I'll post them as soon as our Easter cards are out!:)

Austin has been in bed for almost over an hour. Fingers are crossed for a good nights sleep!

8 Months Old!

Didn't we just take the last wagon shots? Can it really be time for them again? It was a little too windy to go outside, but it was warm enough to have our photo shoot in the garage. So with out further a due, here's our baby at 8 months old...

Austin, you are officially a clapper! You clap when you're happy, sad, mad, hungry and everything in between. You love clapping for big money when Wheel is on! (But of course you will not clap when the video camera comes out...)
You are beginning to play on your own a bit. You love pulling all of your toys out of your toy basket. Our living room doesn't know what hit it! I secretly love putting your toys away each night. Makes me feel like a real mom. (Please don't use this against me when you won't clean your room in the future...)
You act shy when you meet a stranger we ask you if you're shy...
You're still working on drinking from a sippy cup. We're hoping the one you got for St. Patrick's Day will be a lucky charm!

You're rolling over!

Still no sign of teethbut we have a feeling they'll be popping up any day now!

You love to mimic this sound...

One thing has remained constant over the past 8 months....Your Mommy and Daddy love you very much!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hey everyone! Austin wanted to say Happy St. Patricks Day!
Please don't drink too much green beer!
He also wanted to tell you about the surprise he found when we got home today. A trail of gold coins!
Where do they go?
Oh my! All the way into his room!
Austin's very own pot of gold green things!
St. Patrick's Day is so much fun!
Happy St. Patrick's Day from The Kiefers!

Austin's First Haircut!

You probably remember me talking about Austin's little hair problem. I made a consultation hair appointment because we were at a loss for what to do with this boy's locks. We knew he was too darn young for a comb over! I called it a "consultation" because I was in denial that my little baby needed an actual hair cut. Only big kids get haircuts! After our lovely stylist checked it out, we decided it was probably best to go ahead with his first cut...

He sat on my lap during the actual cut. We both got capes! He was such a brave little boy!
Even when she trimmed around his ears and neck!
I think this is just the cutest picture...
(Anyone know how to photoshop that random kid out of the back??)

He even got a special First Hair Cut Certificate!
Thanks so much Lara! You did a wonderful job!
I just want to know where my baby went! And where did this blondie come from??

What on earth did we do for fun before we were parents??

The Best Anniversary Gift!

March 3 - A good Day

Two years ago Mommy and Daddy became Mr. and Mrs. Kiefer. They stood together taking their vows before God, their family and their friends, not know that just two years later they could be even happier then they were at that very moment.
Little did they know that in just two years the very definition of happiness would take on a whole new meaning. Little did they know that in less then two short years they'd create a new life. A life that means the world to both of them. A life that made them a family. A life that was created all because two people fell in love and made a vow to each other on March 3, 2007.
Happy Anniversary Daddy. Mommy loves you now more then ever.
