Spike

Austin got his second haircut this past week. He was a little more "wild" this time around. I think he was too scared to move at his first hair cut! This time we were pulling out hair clips, mirrors, combs, and anything else we could find (including my wallet which ended up all over the floor!) to get his mind away from the sissors and razor. He wanted to grab at anything and everything that came close to his head. Maybe he just wanted to help! I love the way it spikes up in front! Getting a haircut is hard work!Loving the new summer do!

A Long Weekend

The best thing about a long weekend is getting to see this...
THREE mornings in a row!

Flip A Flap!

Austin loves his Little People Lift-The-Flap Books. He has "Spring Is Here" and "My little People Farm," but his all time favorite is "Let's Go on a Class Trip!"He will sit for hours a good ten minutes and "read" his books.
The flaps and pages are heavy enough that he hasn't figured out how to rip them -- yet!He loves to find the ducks in the class trip book and the kitty cats in the farm book. Hopefully his love of b-b-b-b-ooks continues!

As Green As It Gets!

Sometimes Austin refuses to eat baby food. Tuesday night it took all of this to get him to eat dinner....
Tonight, however, all it took was...
Not only is it baby food, it's also green!!! Garden vegetables: peas, carrots, and spinach!
Way to go buddy! Thanks for making tonight's dinner easy on Mom!

Double Digits!

Austin is 10-months-old! Time for wagon pictures!

Can I drive this time?Okay, fine, I guess Dad can do it.
Cheese!
Hmmmm, I wonder if there's a way out of here?
Austin, we can't believe you are already 10-months-old. The past 10 months went by so fast! We are sad to see you grow up so quickly, but at the same time we are so excited to watch you grow and learn!

You can say Mama, Dada, Pa, Nan, Cow, Ba (Aunt B!), Bo-Bo-Bo (Book!)

You go to sleep on your own. Even for naps!!

You play "so big!"

You wave bye-bye

You push yourself backwards on your belly. This often makes you very angry!

You love to sleep on your belly. My favorite is when your little tushy is up in the air!

You can rotate in a circle when sitting on your bottom

You stick up your finger when asked how old you're going to be

You make an excited "oh!" face

You love your Little People Flap Books. You can even find the ducks (quack quacks) and kitty cats (meow meows) that are hidden on the pages!

You hate wearing a bib.

You love shredded cheese, bread and potatoes.

You drool...A LOT! Your shirt is often two-toned! You found a way to get into things while we're not looking.

You think you have to eat when we do. (I can't really blame you there!)

You move your feet back and forth so fast that sometimes I worry you're going to start a fire!

You're starting to protest getting your hair washed.

You'll pull yourself onto your knees to get whatever is on the coffee table.

You love to be outside!

You still prefer orange veggies to green ones. Lately you don't want baby food at all!

You're working really hard to pull yourself onto your hands and knees

You are still toothless!

You're do so well with your sippy cup!

You "answer" to Austin, Big A. and Pookie. (I promise we'll stop calling you Pookie before you leave for college. That is, if I let you leave!)

We love you!

On The Move

No, he isn't walking. He isn't crawling. He isn't even trying to pull himself up. But I can prove to you that he's on the move! I left him playing with his toy train while I went to answer my phone. See the train in the back? It never crossed my mind that he'd shimmy his way over to the neatly stacked pile of clothes laying outside his closet door...We're not sure how he does it but we know he's fast!Mom, does Dad know these are NEW??Hurry! Let's put them away before he finds out!

Happy Mother's Day!

"A Christian Wife and Mother"

A Christian wife and mother, God'd gift from heaven above
To members of her family a source of constant love,
A help-mate to her husband in good and evil days,
A blessing to her children in e'er so many ways.

She looks with love and favor upon her children fair,
As precious gifts from heaven God gave into her care.
With Christian admonition and nurture in the Lord
She train them well and wisely with Scriptures full accord.

Thank God for Christian mothers, remember them today,
And call upon your Savior to bless their earthly stay.
They are a nation's fortress, a strong-hold in the home,
We honor and salute them now and in the life to come.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies, Grandmas, God Mothers, and Mommies at heart out there!

An Afternoon Stroll

We like to go for wagon rides when it's not raining outside (which isn't very often these days!). Won't you come along?
Here we go!
Our first stop is to check the ca-ca-ca-cows!
Time to move on...
Now we go up the tiny hill to check out the BIG tree...
Sometimes it gets windy.
Checking out the big pecan tree...
Now we have to check on the rose bush Aunt B and Uncle C gave us when Austin was born.
Yep, looks good!
Then it's time to visit the tree where my new swing will soon hang...
It's going to go way up high...
Thanks for coming along! See ya next time!
