I feel like I've had a lot of conversations lately about what goes into these four "walls" with Austin.

First, you'll see that we DO use his bumper pad. We left it out until he started getting his legs stuck every night. I think it was shortly before his first birthday when we added it to the outside rail. I had previously cut the bumper so that it would fit around the mattress. (Crazy, I know, but it just looked cuter!) So what does Austin go to bed with every night?
In this corner...

...we have Moo-Moo, the Moose and Ferby, the singing Seahorse. Ferby (named by Dad) is used as a backup when the music box runs out of batteries. Austin also likes to turn it on when he wakes up in the morning.
And in this corner...

...we have the music box (that we never attached correctly), a woobie (cloth diaper) and a pile of pacies. I take the music box out every night after he's fallen asleep. We go on a pacie hunt each night before bedtime because most of them end up under the crib. When he was younger we'd know how mad he was (or how little our chance were of keeping him in bed) by the sound of the pacies hitting the floor. One...two...three...and there goes four! In the morning he'll drop the pacie in his crib and say, "bye-bye pacie!"

When exactly do we have to say goodbye to pacies at bedtime? His first sleepover?
And in this corner...

...we have Branson, the monkey, from Branson, MO. He was a gift from Nana on our family vacation this past summer.
And in the final corner...

...we have a stack of blankets. I'll usually cover him with one and take the rest out before going to bed myself. (See the cut bumper pad? Ah, pregnancy hormones will make you do crazy things!)
I guess it kind of seems crazy to sleep with all of that stuff, but we'll do whatever makes bedtime easier!
Night Night!
