Weekend Wrap Up: April 20/21

We're trying to make the most out of every weekend before baby brother gets here. Friday night we kicked off the weekend with a bit of a fashion show. Baby girl is so ready for summer (and not just because all her fall/winter clothes are getting too small!).
Saturday morning we played and cleaned house while we waited for Dad to get home from work. Once he was home we headed to Shiloh for lunch and a failed trip to Menards (it was CRAZY packed). We did hit Sam's for one last pre-baby trip. We should be good on paper towels, toilet paper, detergent and BBQ sauce until he's one!
Sunday we enjoyed a quick trip to the school book fair and a BBQ lunch with Nana and Pa. Dad and the kids headed to Sparta for a visit while I crossed a few more things off our pre-baby list (repaint birth announcement train, watch Aunt Lolo hang curtains, organize bedrooms a bit more, etc.) The neighbor kids came over to play late Sunday afternoon. Austin and Aubrey had so much fun playing in the backyard with Aunt Lolo, Nana, Aunt B, Kalli and Kyky. Sometimes the unplanned afternoons are the best afternoons!
I couldn't agree more with Austin when he woke up on Monday morning and said "that was a really good weekend!"

Baby Boy: The Final Week!

How far along? 39 weeks
Sleep? Still really hot at night. However, the worst thing is not being able to roll over without pain. I guess you use more muscles then you thought (or knew you had) to simply roll from side to side.
Best Recent Moment? Hearing that the end is in sight!
Miss Anything? Nope!
Movement? He's definitely running out of room. I feel him rolling and balling up more than jabbing and punching these days.
Size of the Baby? "He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.)"
Food Cravings? ICE ICE BABY!
Labor Signs? Still nothing measurable. I'm obviously having contractions but nothing has come close to the pain I had before heading to the hospital with Aubrey.
Weight Gain? 45 lbs. I'm officially the weight I was when I delivered Aubrey.
Belly Button In or Out? Still in
Wedding Rings On or Off? Wedding ring is still on.
Mood? Excited!!
Looking Forward To? Meeting our baby boy!!
39 Week Appointment: I'm 2 - 3 and his head is "pretty low." She doesn't think I'll make it until my next appointment much less an induction day of May 1. She even suggested that I could have him and still get home to enjoy the nice weather this coming weekend.  Nine days or less even if we do make it until May 1!!
(Austin @ 39 weeks: Still just a fingertip ~ Aubrey @ 39 weeks and 3 Days: A good 3)
Next Appointment: April 29 @ 40 weeks
Name: Austin just happened to call his brother by the name Jay likes. I was sold from that point on. (I think. lol)

Insta-Update April Part I

At this point, there are only 11 days left in April. Only 11 days until we are a family if five. Here's a insta-update of how we enjoyed the first half of April.
1. Four weeks to go belly shot - Matching Big Bro, Big Sis and Lil Bro Shirts
2. Adorable lunch bags for each kid from Nana and Pa
3. Opps. Tiny traffic violation at 37 weeks
4. Consignment sale finds! Everyone is happy!
5. Baby girl loves her brother's new room as much as he does!
6. Me and my eldest Godson. He's not much of a baby anymore!
7. 37 week appointment
8. Mmmmm...cheese fries (at 9:00 at night)
9. Aubrey fights (and wins) to wear her Big Bro's armpit shirt
10. Nesting is in FULL EFFECT!

Stay tuned... the second half of April should be pretty exciting!

Baby Boy: An Official Countdown!

How far along? 38 weeks
Sleep? HOT. I remember night sweats with Austin AFTER he was born...but I don't remember sweating at night nearly as bad BEFORE either A1 or A2 were born.
Best Recent Moment? More room progress! Hopefully I'll find time to finally post pictures  before Baby Boy turns one.
Miss Anything? Being able to do something (anything!) without needing a nap afterwards.
Movement? Slowing down but still very forceful. Just like with the last two, I feel like I'll actually be able to hold on to his foot at some point.
Size of the Baby? "Your baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and he's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek)."
Food Cravings? ICE. Did you know Sonic will sell their ice for $1.49/bag?
Labor Signs? Still nothing measurable.
Weight Gain? Holding at 40 lbs
Belly Button In or Out? Still in
Wedding Rings On or Off? Wedding ring is still on.
Mood? Excited and still in shock that this is really happening!
Looking Forward To? Finishing up odds and ends while we wait for our baby boy!
38 Week Appointment: All is well. I'm currently dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced. "It could be two days or two weeks" at this point. She asked if I wanted to be induced next Wednesday. I told her at this point I'd like to wait to see if I go on my own, but that I would agree to be induced the Wednesday (May 1) after my due date. Let the official countdown between....16 days or less!
(Austin @ 38 weeks: Still only a fingertip dilated
Aubrey @ 38 weeks: A two, maybe a three and 80% effaced)
Next Appointment: April 22 @ 39 weeks
Name: Austin is still set on DJ Lance...and he let us know this is still his choice because apparently his own name is DJ Rock.

Baby Boy: Full Term!

How far along? 37 weeks
Sleep? A little bit better than last week but still nothing to brag about.
Best Recent Moment? "Moving Day!" Austin is in his new room and Aubrey is ready to welcome her baby brother to their new room.
Miss Anything? Being able to get out of my chair quickly.
Movement? I can tell he's running out of room in there, but he's not he's not slowing down.
Size of the Baby? "Your baby is now considered full term, even though your due date is still three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. He weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long."
Food Cravings? Not really - I've noticed that I get full really fast these days.
Labor Signs? Nothing measurable. Lots of pain from my belly button to my knees if I overdo it. (moving day would be an example)
Weight Gain? Around 40 lbs
Belly Button In or Out? Still in
Wedding Rings On or Off? Wedding ring is still on.
Mood? Even more excited!
Looking Forward To? Finishing up the bedrooms - organizing, decorating, etc.
36 Week Appointment: BP was back to normal and I didn't gain any weight in the past week. I'm still between a 1 - 2, but this time she couldn't even feel his head -- and trust me when I say she gave it her all to poke at his little head. A quick external exam of my belly reassured her that he is head down but not far enough to mean that labor and delivery will be happening anytime soon. She also thinks he'll be "much smaller" than Austin and Aubrey -- but I will believe that when I see it. The doctor deliverying Aubrey said she wouldn't be much bigger than 7lbs. About 5 minutes later out popped my 8lbs 7oz baby girl!
Next Appointment: April 15 @ 38 weeks
Name: I think his first name is finalized. Austin is still set on DJ Lance.

Insta-Update March Part II

It seems nearly impossible that we're already wrapping up the first week of April. It's already BABY MONTH! Here's  quick recap of how we spent the last two weeks of March:
One. We hit the 45 days or less mark!
Two. Spring picture followed by a trip to IHOP - She obviously missed the "no shirt no service" sign.
Three. Hanging out with a giant chocolate chip pancake at IHOP
Four. Annual School Dinner Auction "winnings."
Five. 34 weeks in my new Maverick polo
Six. Exciting Friday night watching "Up."
Seven. Aubrey all dolled up for B and Johnny's engagement party
Eight. A lap full of babies
Nine. Poor Big A sick with a sinus infection
Ten. An exciting year ahead as we prepare for B and Johnny's big day
Eleven. 35 weeks...5 weeks to go... 35 days or less!
Twelve. Last minute cake for Austin's Easter party at school because I wasn't sure if anyone else had signed up.
Thirteen. Austin and Pa's modeling debut in our local newspaper!
Fourteen. Eckert's at Easter. Never. Again. (probably)
Fifteen. This is about as good as Easter morning pics get when Mama is sick
Sixteen. The Easter Bunny came to visit!

There you have it. Our last full month as a family of four (unless Baby decides to come a few days late). We're looking forward to organizing bedrooms, celebrating Easter with the Farrars and hitting the full-term mark in the first half of April!
