Baby Boy @ 26 Weeks

An official baby #3 update is way overdue on this little blog of ours. We're 26 weeks and everything is moving along nicely...and quickly. My heart starts to race a bit when I think about adding this little boy to our mix in just 14 weeks or less. A few ultrasound pics (8, 20 and 26 weeks):

How far along? 26 weeks

Sleep? I have no problem falling asleep the first time, but I have a lot of trouble going back to sleep if I wake up during the night.

Best Moment this week? Getting another peek at our Baby Boy.

Miss Anything? My brain

Movement? I'm happy to report that he's all over the place. The placenta is anterior this time which made it hard to feel him as early as I felt Austin and Aubrey.

Size of the Baby?  1 lb 13 oz at our 26 weeks check up - The length of an English hothouse cucumber!

Food Cravings? Chocolate Milk

Morning Sickness? A sweet memory

Gender? A boy!

Labor Signs? Not yet, thankfully.

Weight Gain? Approx 20 lbs

Belly Button In or Out? Still In

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still On

Mood? A bit stressed given all the things that are going on and everything that needs to be done in the next 14 weeks

Looking Forward To? Starting to work in the basement which will get the ball rolling towards the kids' new bedrooms. (They aren't moving to the basement - but we have to fix up a new playroom so Austin can move into the current one)

Next Appointment: Feb 18 @ 30 weeks

Name: I have a favorite and Jay has a favorite. Bad news is that it isn't the same name.

26 Week Bump:
Austin is very excited about meeting his baby brother. He enjoys looking at the ultrasound pictures and guessing which body parts he's looking at (he always guesses feet). Aubrey doesn't know what's about to hit her...but we know she's going to be a great big sister!

Christmas Catch Up: Christmas Night

Our final Christmas celebration started very similar to last year (only we weren't in short sleeves this year). The boys were in the garage cooking dinner and drinking root beer while the girls were inside getting everything else ready. We attempted a few family pictures before eating dinner and digging into all those gifts.
I look back at these pictures and wonder two things - 1) do my kids ever wear socks? and 2) What's it going to be like when we throw a 8 month old into the mix next year?!
Both kids were very excited about all their goodies. The highlight of the night had to be when Austin realized the boots he opened came with not one, but two boots! He also got a watch from Nana and Pa that aged him 5 yrs as soon as he put it on.
Baby Boy was once again showered with tons of stuff. These faux overalls are too cute! We spent the rest of the evening opening presents, eating dessert and enjoying good company. It was sad to see Christmas come to a close...but we're excited for what's ahead in 2013!

Christmas Catch Up: Christmas Morning

We were so excited that Dad was home when we woke up on Christmas morning. Spending part of the holidays without him was no fun. Austin was in a bit of a daze when he woke up, so it took him awhile to figure out what was going on. But not Aubrey, she drove right in!

Santa mentioned that he was nervous about his gift selection since Austin hadn't asked for anything specific this year. Well, Santa must know his stuff because Austin was excited about everything with his name on it. Aubrey loved everything that was hers...and her big brother's...and her baby brother's. It was all hers in her eyes!
A new rocking horse!
A DJ table!
Austin's toys are just as fun as mine!
Both of them working so hard to get their gifts open.
Aubrey stepping back to take it all in....
...and she's back!
Santa didn't forget baby brother!
This best picture I could get of two excited and distracted kids on Christmas morning. Big gifts this year included a firehouse/police station for Austin, rocking horse for Aubrey and a giraffe baby mat for Baby Boy. Other gifts for Austin: books, bow & arrow, DJ table, DS games and camo crocs. Aubrey's other gifts were a cash register, felt food, piggy bank, books and pink crocs. Baby boy scored with his own rattles and books. Santa did a good job of keeping things simple this year since he knows these kiddos are spoiled by so many other friends and family members.

We enjoyed a yummy Christmas breakfast before spending the rest of the day playing with new toys.

Christmas Catch Up: Christmas Eve

We decided to start a new "wear your PJs" tradition on Christmas Eve this year. It was a laid back, stress free evening of good food and great company.
(This isn't the greatest picture...but I still can't get over how cute these PJs were!)
Kalli and Austin spent a good portion of the night tracking Santa. We wanted to make sure we got home in plenty of time to put out cookies and reindeer food.
We got home with just minutes to spare...
Austin was nervous about Santa having enough room to land his sleigh in the backyard... so we made sure to put enough food in both the back and the front yard.
We headed inside to plate some of Grandma Ferfer and Aunt Carol's cookies for Santa. Aubrey didn't understand why she couldn't eat Santa's cookies.
A few snazzy Christmas Eve photos before everyone (except for mom, who had a busy night ahead of her) was off to bed. We were all excited that Santa was coming...and Dad was finally coming home!
