Happy Hallo....Easter?!?

For the past few weeks we've watched nothing but...That's right... We've been hunting eggs, eating chocolate chickens and filling Easter baskets on repeat. Hopefully we've moved onto Fourth of July by Christmas!
Maybe he should have been a rabbit for Halloween!

RB Homecoming 2010

We switched gears and headed to the RB homecoming coronation after a fun afternoon at Eckert's. The year was extra special because Kalli was Freshman attendant AND Stefan was the retiring King. What a difference a year makes! Congrats to Kalli and Stefan! We love you guys!

Eckert's Fun Farm

A few weekends ago (yes, I'm that behind) we headed to Eckert's Fun Farm with the Parmeter's. It was a beautiful extremely windy day and I think everyone enjoyed themselves!
It was our first trip to the Millstadt location. We weren't sure what to expect, but we pleasantly surprised when we saw all the fun activities for the kids. Pig races, a corn maze, camels, pony rides and a pumpkin launcher. What more could you ask for on a fall afternoon?
Austin got so excited when he saw the pony rides. We assumed he'd back out at the last minute, but as you can see, he loved every second of it!
We agreed to the airplanes after seeing how brave he was during the pony ride. He was so excited until the ride started moving. He burst into the saddest tears after just one lap. We finally asked them to stop the ride because I thought I was going to cry! It was so heartbreaking to see him trying to be so brave!
Such a fun day with great friends! We can't wait to visit again next year!

Mini Tornado

Did anyone hear the tornado sirens going off tonight? I totally missing the warning...

Someone call FEMA!

Workbooks!

I have been anxiously waiting to do "homework" with Austin since the day he was born. I've been dreaming of new colors, notebooks and backpacks for over two years now. The excitement of writing his name on every single crayon keeps me up at night. (The thought of actually sending him to school is an entirely different story....baby steps.)

I've been searching for workbooks that are geared toward toddlers. I had to calm myself when I stumbled upon these...

Ages 2 - 3 - 4. 2? 2?!? Austin is 2 and a quarter! I was able to refrain from buying "my first book of cutting" (scissors? mama is not ready for that!) but tracing and coloring were in my basket before I could think twice.

I keep telling myself there is a good chance he won't be nearly as excited as I am. I'm sure he'll eventually learn to love them as much as I do....loving school supplies this much is only normal, right?!?

Two Minutes

We may or may not have developed a small attitude problem over the last few weeks. Little Austin gets kind of mad when he isn't getting his way these days. It usually ends with a red face and an order for us to "do it!" We decided that we need to start trying time outs to help him understand that getting mad isn't going to help him get his way. His sentence matches his age - two minutes.
So far the time outs have had little impact. We think he might even enjoy them. He'll throw a toy, yell "two minutes," and then put himself in time out!
How can you discipline this angel?

Dad's Birthday Dinner

We spent a quiet evening at home to help Dad ring in his 33rd year. Dinner included homemade pizza and death by chocolate. Happy Birthday, Dad! We love you!

Cookies with "Mee-Mees"!

We welcomed fall by making cookies with "mee-mees!" Austin didn't want anything to do with the process until I started adding the M&Ms. I think we almost added the entire bag by the time we were done.
Mee-mees are definitely a weakness in our family! The fall colors make them even tastier!
The results are definitely worth the mess!
Happy fall, ya'll!

Farmer Finn Turns 3!

Finely's parties are always so much fun. This year, we celebrated down on the farm! It was a beautiful afternoon for an outside party. We got to visit the farm animals after dinner. Austin was excited to see the bunnies, cows, horses, pigs and goats. You would have thought the boy had never been on a farm before!
Happy Birthday, Farmer Finn! We wish you many many more!
