Last Post of 2008

Happy New Year's Eve! Seriously? 2009? Where on earth did this year go? This has been the fastest year of my life! We have so much to be thankful for. Austin was only here for the second part of 2008, but somehow I can't remember what life was like before him.

Austin's 2008 sure was a busy one! In July he made his grand entrance into this world. A moment in time his Dad and I will never forget. In August he was baptized into Christ with family and Godparents by his side. September brought his very first birthday party for his good friend Finn. October was the first time his Mommy embarrassed him -- dressing him up as a turkey for Halloween! In November we all gathered to be thankful for the blessings were given this year. This December he celebrated his first Christmas with all of his family and friends.

Austin, I look forward to spending many more New Year's Eves with you! (Until you're cool to hang out with us anyway!) Thank you for making us a family this year. It's definitely a year we will always hold close to our hearts.

Oh Christmas Tree...

Austin loves to lay under the Christmas tree. I thought I'd post a few pictures and a video so that next year, when he's pulling it down, I can remind him how much he loved it this year!

Chewy Legs

Austin will literally chew on anything...
I just want to chew on these...

Thank You!

Austin would like to thank everyone for helping make his first Christmas extra special! We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends! Hope your Christmas was as magical as his!

Christmas Pictures - Outtakes

I just had to post some of the pictures we didn't buy. Some of them are just too funny not to share!

How you doin'?
Maybe they'll let me go home if I slobber all over my shirt!
Still smiling, but so very very tired!
I don't know about this...
Uhmmmm. Seriously. Why the box?
Mother! I said get me out of here!
Can we stop if I eat the set?

MMMM, tasty.
Mom! Get your hand out of the shot!
You thought you were getting out of here with just the $9.99 package, didn't you! Ha ha...jokes on you, Mom! Good luck turning even these silly pictures down!

Christmas Pictures

We had an interesting ordeal with Christmas pictures. We ended up walking out without even looking at the pictures on the first visit. We waited almost an hour and we tried to stay in the Christmas spirit, but it was nearly impossible when our photographer started rattling a chair on the ground to get Austin's attention. The next Monday I made an appointment for later in the week. When we got there they realized they forgot to write us down in the appointment book. We were told it would be 25 minutes to an hour before they could take us. We decided to wait because I'm convinced his first Christmas would be ruined without proper pictures. This is what we got...

The best part is that we got them all FREE!

My Uncle C

I really like my Uncle C. He loves to help me play with my toys. Mommy says he'll be so good at helping me put my Christmas presents together!
He even lets me play the drums on his head!
I love you Uncle C!

Surprise Choo Choo!

My Aunt B found a Christmas gift for me in my garage! It was from my Great Aunt Carol and Great Uncle Short!

What is this thing?
Oh my goodness!
It's a train! Just like Daddy's!
Thank you so much!

Visit with Santa

We took Austin to see Santa a few weekends ago. It was a very cold day, but the line wasn't too bad. I took a few pictures while we waited outside.

Here's Santa's house! We took a picture of the pretty fountain while we waited. And then there's a shot of the backside of the reindeer with only one antler!A wedding party stopped by to take pictures on their special day...We had to wait for a little longer then we thought, so I ended up heading back to the car to feed Austin while Jay waited in line. Shorly after we returned we were finally next! The moment had arrived! And then my camera went out! I kid you not! I thought the batteries were dead, but come to find out (not until the next day) I had just turned off the LCD screen! So we paid our $14 for one 4x6 and two wallets! At least we can say he visited Santa on his first Christmas. We're not perfect parents, but we try!

Feet!

Hello! Check out the cool things I found. I was waiting for my Mom to fix my cereal when I noticed the coolest things....
My Mom says they are my feet and someday they'll take me wherever I want to go. I just think they are fun to play with!
Right under here you'll find five perfect little piggies!

Trick #2 - Pacey Picker Upper

(Trick #1 is "Dance with Your Mama." We're still trying to catch it on film...)
