More Outside Demolition

Demolition continues with $$$iding removal -

Baby G {Coming in Nov 2011}

The Farrar family is growing by two feet in 2011! Baby Gregson will be here in November!
(**Disclaimer that Stefan is the proud UNCLE, even though he looks like the Dad in these pictures! What a goofball!)

More Demolition

Our house is definitely not a "home" anymore. Things have started to progress quickly now that we're moved out.  I am so blessed to have family members that aren't afraid to swing a crowbar! One of the first outside tasks was gutter removal...
Meanwhile, back inside...things are getting pretty bare...The "big door" is out and all trim has been removed from doors and windows.
 The following pictures is a shot of where the house and garage will eventually be split. The existing garage will stay as a detached man cave garage.

St. Patrick's Day {2011}

Those crazy Leoprauchans almost forgot about St. Patrick's Day this year. Thankfully, Target is only a minute away from their office! $10 and a bag full of "green things" made for a extra special St. Patrick's Day! The green bath tablets were a hit for a hot minute until he decided "I no like green baffs!"
I wonder why the Leprechauns didn't bring the pot of gold this year? Hmmm, maybe Mama Leprechaun packed it away and has no idea which tub to start with!

Preschool Registration

"Whatchu mean, preschool??"
A very exciting day for the Kiefer household - Preschool Registration! Everyone was very excited until we realized we were missing one thing - a birth certificate! Parents of the year right here, folks! We decided to still go to the open house even without proof that this little boy would really be 3 by Sept 1.
He ran full throttle into his "new school" until he saw that there were other people there. Then he decide he's rather "just go home." We verified that they'd still take him with a birth certificate (the darn thing showed up the following Tuesday) and headed off to see his classroom. He met his teacher and played with the toys while I filled out the paperwork and wrote our first of many checks. His teacher, Mrs. Steele, said that the first task is to teach them independence. Each kid is responsible for putting their book bag away and signing in as soon as they walk in the door. I'll admit that I was a little sad when she told me that a book bag is the only school supply he'll need. Everything was going really well until the very end, when Mrs. Steele tried to tell him good bye... and he closed his eyes and pretending to snore!
Next Steps: potty training and a home visit with Mrs. Steele in the summer. Oh, and picking out a book bag...how on earth do you only pick ONE?!?

North for the Summer

The time has finally come to move so our new house can be built. Our garage is full of our non-essentials, and the important stuff has been moved to B's. We moved most of Austin's furniture while he was with the FerFer's for the afternoon, so he was in for quite a surprise when he came home to an empty house. He ran in his room and said, "hey, where's my bed? turn on that light! hey, where's my light? What is going ON HERE?" We spent one more night in the farm house before packing up the last of our bedding (and Jeffery!) and making the 3-mile move to Aunt B's.
We told Austin that there was a BIG surprise waiting for him at B's house. During the drive over, he said "hey mom, is my work bench at B's house??" Little did he know that EVERYTHING was now at B's house. We got a lot more "what is going on here" when we first came in the house. He spent the first 10 minutes going room to room, pointing at things and saying, "hey, here my work bench! hey, here my toy box! hey, here my Bob movies!" We tried to keep everything as normal as possible. His tower is in the kitchen and the laptops are still on the counter...
Toys are in the living room, and he's having NO problem making a mess in his "new" home...
Even the Bubble Guppies came with us!
And the Condoooooo...
And of course all his friends...
And toys....
The best part about living at B's is that when you open this door...
You can see Nana and Pa's!!
We're all adjusting well to our new surroundings. The first night here, Austin grabbed my face and said "I ready to go to home now!" I don't think he fully understands why we're here, but if one thing is true, it's that we have the most adaptable kid ever! Somehow I think moving away from this house is going to be a lot harder then our move from S. Prairie to N. Prairie! I mean how on earth am I going to keep him for running across the field this summer?!?!
