The summer Olympics were a reminder of how much our lives have changed in just four short years. New house, new baby...but the same old USA pride!

4th BIRTHday Celebration

We wanted Austin's actual birthday to be extra special now that he really understands birthdays. We started off the day with family photo shoot. Then we went to Toys R Us to pick out his new bike. We enjoyed lunch at Chuck E. Cheese...

Our dinner wasn't ready for pick up until 4:30, so we killed a bit of time at the used bookstore. He thought it was so cool to buy whatever he wanted (within reason). We left with two rescue vehicle books and a Thomas movie for only $8.

Nana, Pa, The FerFers, B and Johnny joined us for a special birthday dinner. His #4 sandwich was perfect!

Thomas joined us for dessert...

Happy 4th Birthday, Austin! We love you more then you'll ever know. You continue to bring so much joy to our lives. We wish you MANY more!

All Aboard Austin's Birthday Express

Another birthday party is in the books for our eldest. This year's theme was trains! Jump aboard as we remember how much fun we had at his party:

We had the party at the Ruma Hall again this year. It just worked out so well last year - plenty of room and plenty of AC to go around! The kids table had trains to play with, coloring pages to color, fun train books to read and super cute engineer hats and bandannas to wear. All of the kiddos looked so cute in their hats. 

The dessert table...cupcakes, ice cream sandwiches, donut pops, cookies and flavored popcorn. The popcorn was definitely a hit! 

There were four new babies at the party this year! It will be fun to see them all running around next year.

Time for presents! We were so proud of how polite Austin was during his gift opening. I can only hope that continues every year.

Before we knew it, it was time to clean up and head home. Austin maybe have enjoy mopping the floor most of all!

So proud of my little big boy! The fun he has make all the planning SO worth it!

Insta-Update {8.13.12}

1. Sidewalks are finally complete. Time to start some fall landscaping. 

2. We've spent a lot of Saturdays without Dad this past month. I've tried my best to keep things fun.

3. Her knees welcome the relief. Her thighs beg for a bit more breathing room.

 1. Knee surgery after a fall that led to 24hrs of no walking. Seriously.
