First Unofficial Hair Cut

Somewhere between months 6 and 7, the executive decision was made to give Aubrey her first "unofficial hair cut." She had developed a one-sided baby mullet that was getting stragglier by the day. You may want to turn away if you cut hair for a living. **ahem, Lara**

I actually still can't believe I did this and I might even be a little embarrassed after viewing these pics tonight. We used kitchen chicken scissors, for heaven's sake!!

We plopped her down in the Bumbo.. I had the chicken scissors, Dad had the camera, and Austin had the responsibility of keeping our client entertained. (Still don't know why we thought that would work.)

 And here we go...

 "Uhm, Dad? What's going on back there?"

 "Why is mom pulling at my hair and Austin yelling in my ear?!?"

 "Hey wait, I think I might feel lighter and a little more even. I think I like it." Austin agrees.

The finished product. Not perfect, but so much better then before. Now everything can grow in a bit more evenly - that being said, I think I'll quit while I'm ahead and leave my chicken scissors for work in the kitchen!

Insta-Update 7.28

July 28th and this is only blog post number 3. Shame shame! I guess my biggest excuse is that I only get to see Aubrey for ~two hours a night...so blogging is the last thing on my mind. And I'm not embarrassed to admit that I'm in bed shortly after she is. 4.45am rolls around all to quickly. Here's a glimpse into our world the last few weeks...

Aubrey: 7 Months {7.11.12}

 1 Month - 2 Months - 3 Months - 4 Months - 5 Months - 6 Months

Seven Months Old! Lucky 7! Closer to a toddler than a newborn! It's hard to believe any way you say it. At seven months you are rolling all over the place. Mom and Dad are looking into gates because there's no stopping you when you hit the hardwood floor. You also make your presence known where ever we go. One night Daddy and I took you on a little date...and he was so embarrassed at how loud you were screaming! You weren't sad or mad...you just wanted everyone to know that Aubrey Kiefer was in the house! You're still on the same schedule as last month, but you've added yogurt to your snack options. You're also really good to mom on the weekends...sleeping into 8:30 or 9:00 most Saturdays. You've had your first unofficial haircut. We just couldn't take the one-sided baby mullet any more!

Your bunny is one of your favorite toys right now. You also love your lamb play mat, giraffe and pink blankie. However, at the end of the day, our cells phones and the TV remotes can't be beat!

Taking these pictures is starting to get a little bit more difficult because you do not like to stay in one spot for longer than a second. We did our best and were all wore out by the time we were done...

Happy 7 Months, Baby Girl! Let's keep our fingers crossed for those teeth to pop through before the 8 month update!
