Flashback Friday

It's a boy! It's a boy! Oh boy, it's a boy! I think we're both still in shock. I guess you should aways trust your gut when it comes to these things. For some reason I just "knew" it was a boy, but I was still so surprised when she told us yesterday. I swear time stood still between "do you want to know" and "it's a boy!" Jay jumped right out of his chair to get a closer look. I couldn't help but throw an "I told you so!" at him! The baby closed his legs shortly after we had seen the goods. It was like he did what he had to do and then he was going back to bed! Everything during the ultrasound looked great. The tech said he has everything he needs to be a healthy little boy. Right now he weighs about 14 oz and is on track for a due date of 7/11. Here are the pictures. I apologize for them being so blurry. They are much better in real life. The money shot! The boy shot explained... Profile In this one he's looking right at us w/ his right arm up by his face Isn't he just the cutest thing ever?!?! Now if only he had a name...

And here we are a year later...

He has a name and he's STILL the cutest thing ever!

Lucky 7

It's time for the seventh round of wagon shots! I don't know how many more rounds we'll get in before he starts crawling out of the wagon.
Austin, you are doing so many fun things each and every day! At seven months you love to surprise us with new tricks!

You love to take anything and everything out of bags, boxes and baskets, including my purse! You've become quite the little pickpocket!

You still haven't mastered rolling over, but you sitting very well on your own and even starting to pull yourself up on the coffee table. (Of course we still have to put you in front of it!)

You are still enjoying cereal, fruits and veggies, but you have a new found love for anything off our plates! Bread, mashed potatoes, and crackers are your favorite. You also like Bitter Biscuits, but they make Mom nervous!

You're working really hard on your pincer grasp. We found a great way to train your fingers to grasp small objects...Puffs! You started picking them up and putting them in your mouth only a few days after the two of you were introduced.

You love to show off your "bad cough" and make Indian sounds. You've been saying "Da-Da-Da" for a few weeks, but you've added "Ma-Ma-Ma" in the past few days.

Your smile can still warm any heart and your laugh is extremely contagious!

I'm still trying to catch you playing peekaboo on film. One night you just started playing it by lifting your blankie over you head.

You are having some serious hair issues. We're still not really sure what to do about it.
You prefer to sleep in our bed rather then your own -- but we're working on it!

Although you are able to raise up on your arms, you still hate belly time!

You prefer to be rocked to sleep with your head on the armrest of the chair, rather then in our arms.
You've started to get upset of you're left in a room alone.

You've outgrown your car seat! We moved you to a convertible car seat the weekend before your 7 month birthday. It has been an adjustment but we don't miss that heavy carrier!
We are so proud of our 7-month-old little boy. We love to watch you development and grow into such a sweet little baby.

We love you Austin!

6 1/2 Month / Valentine's Day Pictures

I told myself we weren't getting pictures taken until Easter. It would work out well since that would be right around Austin's 9 month birthday. I figured after that we could take another break until his 1st birthday pictures in July. Well.... As you can see, I got the itch to take him again once he started sitting on his own. I rationalized it would be okay since the Christmas pictures were free! Here's some of our favorites...
Our visit was a lot better then it was a Christmas time. We still had to wait but I've realized that's inevitable at this place! We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Austin was spoiled rotten...once again!
