Rainy Days

What do you do when your parents are off for four days and it rains every single day?

You get out every single toy you have...
And what do you do when all the toys are out?

You play in the toy box!

22 Months

Austin, at 22 months...

You like to randomly tell us "hi!"

You started calling me "mom." Not mommy or mama. Just Mom.

You started asking to "help" with things -- laundry, dishes, dinner, etc.

You randomly put your hand to your mouth and clear your throat. You say "whelp" if we ask you what Pa says

You pronounce your name "Tin-tin!"

You get excited about brushing your teeth until it's time to actually do it.

You claim that every baby is "sad" and "cr-eye-ing."You had your first busted lip.

You say "sure" after you say you don't want to do something...Just to make sure we know you're positive.

You like to "try it" everything yourselfYou try to repeat everything we say.

You started announcing when you go #2, but you deny it as soon as we ask.

You're turning into a little boy way too fast!

We love you!

Imagination At Work

Austin has really started to play with a purpose these days. He no longer plays with things just to pacify himself or just to make noise. A few nights ago we came home to find his latest creation (with Nana's help, of course)....."Sheds." A boy with this many trucks definitely needs sheds!
He spends a lot of time pushing his trucks in and out of each slot so they can take "a nap" after a hard day of work. They even snore once they're safely in their place! No shed is complete without a place for your animals and beautiful landscaping. You'll notice that even the chickens (and a duck) have a place of their own.Next to his shed is the garage where he keeps his work and recreational vehicles -- his mail truck, race car and driver, and four wheeler. It's so neat to see his little imagination at work. I can't wait to see where it takes us next!

Pee-Wee, The Prairie Pigeon

We adopted a new pet at our house. Pee-Wee, The Prairie Pigeon has decided to make our nest his for awhile. We're not sure where he came from but he has a tag on his foot so someone claimed him at some point. Austin loves to chase Pee-Wee around. Nothing makes for better entertainment then an almost-two-year-old chasing a piegon. Poor bird didn't know what he was in for when he landed here!
(**I know, I know birds are gross and they scare the crap out of me too. Just to clarify, we have never touched Pee-Wee!)

Mother's Day 2010 Recap

On Friday night, Nana, Aunt B. and Austin surprised me with a gift that Austin had picked out all by himself. He told Nana and Aunt B. he wanted to get me "hair," so I a new hair brush and hair ties. So sweet!

Saturday we headed to Fairview to get my gift -- a new Droid Incredible! I was super disappointed when we found out they were out of stock, but now that I have it...it's well, Incredible!! I no longer have to hide my phone in embarrassment! I tried to give my old phone to Austin but even he won't play with it! After Verizon, we had lunch at Longhorn, which is my favorite place!

On Saturday evening we enjoyed dinner, cupcakes and yummy chocolate covered strawberries with Grandma K. We celebrated with Nana on Sunday night with very tasty ribeyes!

A Mother's love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible.

Devin's Bath

By Austin

So after we Marched for Babies and took a nap, my Mom told me we had to go to Devin and Kristin's wedding bath. Here's a picture of me giving Devin his gift. At this point I knew this wasn't your normal bath. Where were the bubbles? The bath toys? And why doesn't anyone ever bring presents when it's my bath time?
You want to know the best part about their bath? CAKE! I'm totally asking my mom if I can have cake the next time I take a bath. Here's a picture of me and Great Aunt Win watching Kristin open more presents.
It was a fun afternoon....even if was NOT what I expected! Thanks for making me a part of your special day, Din-Din and Kristin! I can't wait to dance, dance, dance!

Marchin' For Babies

We were so excited to be a part of the March of Dimes walk this year. We got up early and headed to St. Louis to join Adali's Angels -- praying for good weather our entire drive! Austin acted so shy all morning long. I actually think he was playing hard to get because he told me Adali and her mommy were "cute" once we were on our way home.Going on charity walks is always such a moving event. It's amazing to see all the people, who have been touched by the cause, coming together to make sure the someone else doesn't ever go through the same thing they did. We can't wait to join in the fun again next year. We'll march until all babies are born healthy -- which is hopefully someday soon!

Go Cards!

The Cardinals had a game the afternoon of our garage sale. You can imagine our surprise when they were STILL playing long after the sun when down. Austin did what he could to get the game moving...

You can see that even he thought it was helpless! Go, Go, Gooooo Cards!

Garage Sale

We usually have a garage sale every spring. Every year we ask why we put ourselves through it! This year was no different....It's great to get rid of clutter, but boy are they a LOT of work! I decided to part with some of Austin's clothes. I would have made more money if I just would have collected a $1 for every time someone asked me why I was getting rid of his stuff. Please don't worry...we still have NINE tubs of NB - 18 months. I promise that if #2 is a boy...he will NOT go naked. Austin loved the garage sale because he got to be outside ALL day long and play with Ka-Ka and Ky-Ky! We complain the whole time...but I think everyone enjoys them just a little bit! We sure do have a lot of good laughs!
