Blog Hijack: "JP" @ 20/21 Weeks

I'm sure most of you know by now that we still don't know if JP is a boy or girl. The little stinker had his/her knees together and ankles locked. The ultrasound tech showed up multiple times how tightly he/she was holding his/her legs together. The funny thing is that she told us a lot of people haven't been able to find out lately because a lot of babies have been stubborn. I laughed and thought not THIS baby! Little did I know we'd be walking out a few minutes later still wondering if Austin was getting a baby sister or baby brother.

The ultrasound tech also had trouble getting a clear shot of JP's heart so we get another peek on August 23. (I later found out that she sometimes says that just so parents can come back for a "medically necessary" ultrasound to find out the sex) They wanted us to wait until my appointment on Sept 6 but I think they realized this mama wasn't waiting that long!

The most important thing is that he/she looked happy and healthy! So without further ado....here he or she is coming in at approximately 13 ounces......

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.
